Saturday Santa Anita Park Recap: October 28

Fast main track and firm turf course. One front running winner on dirt (6.5f). The winning turf course running styles were a stalker at nine furlongs, two patient runner down the hill, a dueling front runner at nine furlongs, and a pace presser at one mile.

Kent Desormeaux and Gary Stevens both booted home a pair. Mark Glatt saddled three winners including Sharp Samurai in the G2 Twilight Derby.

I was alive to Save Ground in the finale for a 5 out of 6 consolation prize on Saturday but he was edged for the show in the 12-horse field. There were multiple tickets with all six winners on Oct 28 ($5,361.00) and 5 out of 6 returned $33.40.

Jarrod Horak’s SANTA ANITA PARK Pick 6 Preview for Sunday (10-29-17)

SA 6 – The Pick 6 Jackpot pool stands at $31,408 and there is a mandatory payout on closing day. This wide open MSW turf sprint down the hill includes a couple of interesting first time geldings (Oiseau de Guerre, Towards the Light).

SA 7 – Tiffany Diamond is the logical favorite and I will include Took the High Road and Lovely Linda on my Pick 6 tickets as well.

SA 8 – This race might boil down to One I’m Running To and Cal Cal Li Gowchis.

SA 9 – It does not get any more wide open than the Autumn Miss. You could go six deep and still miss this gem of a betting race. Lull is the tepid favorite but I am not completely sold on Clement’s quality shipper.

SA 10 – Marley’s Freedom looked good graduating Sept 4 and might be a solid late sequence key or single.

SA 11 – Another competitive downhill sprint to end the fall meet. Carrie’s Success tries to transfer her solid dirt sprint form to turf.

Sunday’s Pick 6 Tickets are included with my Santa Anita Park full card analysis at winninghorsepicks.com.
