Santa Anita Park Big Cap Day Daily Double + Early Pick 3 Tickets

Friday Golden Gate Fields Recap: March 10

Friday’s (3-10-17) suggested Early Pick 4 Tickets from Golden Gate Fields yielded two Primary winners (Midnight Seeker, Reginella) and one Secondary winner (Arviat Bay). I needed one of my two Primary players in the opening leg to hit the Early Pick 4 but they ended up 3rd and 5th behind $47.40 upsetter Tizfit.

Jarrod Horak’s SANTA ANITA Daily Double + Early Pick 3 contenders for Saturday (3-11-17)

SA 1 (Str-Alw, 6f) #6 ST. RENO (8-5) ran well in all four outings and earned the best last race number in a clear place finish vs. this kind Feb 25. He drew well and owns the best Pace Ratings. #5 Hook ‘Em Kurt (9-5) returned as a gelding and promptly graduated in his first tagged start Feb 19. His last Today’s Racing Digest Fire Number was his best yet and he can threaten these with another forward move. #4 Classic Ruler (9-2) caught a wet track at one mile and eased off the Hollendorfer claim Jan 20. He ran well in his last two fast track sprints and I like the fact that he returns without a tag attached. The sophomore gets in light with Roman. THE PLAYS: Exacta 5-6/4, Trifecta Key 6/4-5

SA 2 (MSW, 6.5T) #8 HI HEAT BOY (4-1) is a D’Amato first timer out of 21% first turf sire Heatseeker and Elliott is 3-for-5 with D’Amato, who also saddles #1 Thermopolis (6-1). Dam’s other two starters won on turf. #10 Dr. Troutman (5-2) removes blinkers and missed by a head in his lone turf try at one mile (best career number – raced without blinkers). #4 Burnie’s On Board (7-2)  ran on turf four times in 2016 including a prominent throughout 3rd in a productive flat mile affair at DMR last summer. Gonzalez is 23% with Cassidy recently. #9 Mizter Kool Cat (5-1) is firing bullets for this and dam has tossed two turf winners. THE PLAYS: #8 to win, Trifecta 1-8/1-4-8-9-10/1-4-8-9-10

SA 3 (OC-40k, 10f) #6 AIN’T MISBEHAVIN (3-1) exits a smart off the pace score in a local route for the productive Kent D/Cerin team (7-for-28 together). #3 Freddies Dream (5-2) earned a quality Fire Number in his flat mile win Feb 19 and Prat is 2-for-17 with new trainer Carava. #5 Ultimate Luck (6-1) gamely fought back in a local CA-bred optional claiming affair at one mile Jan 26. #4 Muchos Besos (12-1) ran well in his two longest races at nine furlongs on dirt. THE PLAYS: #6 to win, Exacta Box 3-6, Exacta 3-6/4-5
