Pick 6 Blog

Del Mar Update – July 22

Nailed the Del Mar opener on my MySpace page (High Stakes Silver, $22.80), but the Pick 6 did not start out nearly as well.

Twin Turbo ($21.60) upset the opening leg of the Pick 6, and with a string of wide open races left, we could be looking at a carryover to kick off the meet.

John Sadler is off to a quick start with two winners through the first five races.

All Money No Love ($14.00) took down the 6th. Deluxe Cat made a run down the center of the lane but hung.

Note that Rafael Bejarano was injured when his mount broke down in race 3. No word on his condition, but they are reportedly taking a look at his left collarbone.

Brushburn ($10) rallied past my pick Acclamation in the 7th, and Afleet Eagle ($14.60) held Mark S The Cooler safe in the Oceanside. Tyler Baze rode the winner, giving him a riding double. Vladimir Cerin trained the winner, and it was his 2nd tally on the day as well.

Got Wickednwackyingid ($7.80) home in the 9th, but it was too little too late.

Saintly Spirit ($10.60) gave John Sadler his 3rd win on the card, and Joel Rosario his 2nd. My top Prophetise was 2nd best.

Tough opening day Pick 6 was hit to the tune of $57,699.40.

Bias: Track seemed to play fair overall on opening day. Speed was kinder in sprints. Oceanside was nabbed by a prominent throughout type.
