Santa Anita Park Recap – Saturday, October 18, 2014
Edge to early-pressing types on the fast main track (3 sprint wire jobs – 7f, 6f, 5.5f). The three turf races produced a downhill wire job, a flat mile wire job, and a stalking winner at 8f (rail at 15 feet).
Elvis Trujillo booted home a pair.
Saturday’s suggested early Pick 3 tickets yielded two winners. I got home opening race top Stored Attaq ($9.60) and tabbed the third race but came up empty in the second race.

Jarrod Horak’s Early Pick 3 Tickets from Santa Anita Park – Sunday, October 19, 2014
SA 1 (MSW, 8T) #3 DEMONICA (9-2) finished up nicely in a strong local 6f move Oct 14 and sire First Defence is 15% first turf. She should show speed. #6 Three Blondes (2-1) tries to graduate in her twelfth career start. She is usually in the hunt on turf and Bejarano clicks with Gutierrez. #1 Cee’s Tizzy Belle (4-1) showed much improved early interest on Los Al dirt last time and Smith climbs aboard. THE PLAYS: #3 to win, Exacta 3/1-6, Exacta 1-3/6
SA 2 (Clm-16k, 6f) #2 GAL HAS TO LIKE IT (5-2) beat similar here off the Hollendorfer claim Sept 26 and could get first run again under Van Dyke. #3 When We Met (2-1) has rattled off four straight and the sharp late runner needs a fair track and pace help. #4 Sacred Ovation (5-2) set the pace and finished 2nd in the same race my top exits. He likes this trip and looms the target under Baze. THE PLAYS: #2 to win, Exacta 2/3-4, Exacta 3-4/2
SA 3 (Mcl-20k, 6f) #5 PIONEER CHARLIE (5-2) did not run a step after a bumpy start here last time. He ran well under today’s rider Pedroza at Los Al Sept 20 and wins this if he repeats that effort. He figures in the hunt throughout 3rd off the shelf and might roll wire-to-wire in this paceless affair. THE PLAYS: #5 to win
